Suddenly, a new sound pierces the tunnel—a high-frequency whine, artificial. It’s coming from a hidden device planted by a mysterious figure in a hood: , a former ARGUS sonic weapons specialist who wants Kordell to lose control. Echo reveals he’s been amplifying Kordell’s powers remotely, using him as a living bomb to destroy the CCPD and STAR Labs.

In the real world, Kordell wakes up, calm. He focuses his power and releases a directed pulse that shatters Echo’s device—and sends Echo flying into a support pillar, unconscious.
