The little chime of a completed download was a sacred sound in Leo’s cramped apartment. He leaned forward on his worn-out gaming chair, the glow of his PC monitor painting his face in pale blue light. On the screen, a folder labeled sat open, and inside, a single file glittered like a pirate’s treasure: Zelda: Echoes of the Abyss [UP].nsp .
Ready to play.
Leo swallowed. He looked at the Switch. The blank white game tile was pulsing gently now.
“Okay, baby,” he whispered to the console, popping the SD card out of his dongle and slotting it back into his modded Switch. The RCM jig was already wedged in the right rail. He held Volume Up, tapped Power, and the screen stayed black. Good. He was in Recovery Mode.
