The CCC-SLP is a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of speech-language pathology. It signifies that the holder has voluntarily met rigorous academic and professional standards beyond state licensure requirements, including a national examination and a supervised clinical fellowship.
Plan to pursue the CCC-SLP if you intend to work in the U.S., especially in medical or private practice settings. In schools, check your state’s requirements—some allow state licensure or teaching certification alone, but the CCC often leads to higher pay and greater mobility.
