Anterior Myocardial Infarction -

1. Definition & Anatomy An anterior myocardial infarction (MI) refers to necrosis of the anterior wall of the left ventricle due to acute occlusion of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery . It is often called the " widow-maker " infarction due to its high mortality and extensive myocardial damage.
